Italian Quick and Easy Pizza Dough

This quick and easy pizza dough recipe uses simple ingredients and minimal rising time to create a delicious, homemade pizza crust perfect for any toppings.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 ¾ cups bread floor plus extra for dusting
  • 1 packet fast-action dried yeast (about 2 ¼ teaspoons)
  • ½ tsp granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup plus 3 tablespoons warm water
  • large pinch of salt
  • your favorite pizza toppings

Instructions
 

Prepare the Dough

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the bread flour, dried yeast, and granulated sugar. Mix well with a wooden spoon.
    Make a well in the center of the flour mixture, and pour in ¾ cup plus 3 tablespoons of warm water. Add a large pinch of salt.
    Stir the mixture with a wooden spoon until all the flour is incorporated and you have a soft dough.
    Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead it for about 5 minutes, or until it becomes smooth and elastic.

Prepare the Oven and Roll Out the Dough

  • Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). Place a pizza stone, heavy baking sheet, or an upside-down baking tray on the top shelf to heat up.
    If you allowed the dough to rise further, punch it down to remove the air. Divide the dough into two equal portions.
    On a floured surface, use a rolling pin to roll out one portion of the dough into a large circle. Transfer it to a floured baking sheet.
    Add your favorite toppings evenly over the dough.
    Carefully slide the pizza from the baking sheet onto the preheated stone, baking sheet, or tray in the oven.
    Remove the pizza from the oven and repeat with the second portion of dough.
