- 1 can diced tomatoes (29 ounces)
- 2 cans chicken broth (14.5 ounces each)
- 2 cans Great Northern beans (14 ounces each)undrained
- 3 cups water
- 1 can chopped spinach (14 ounces),drained
- 1 can tomato sauce (8 ounces)
- 8 slices cooked bacon crumbled
- 1 tbsp garlic minced
- 1 tbsp dried parsley
- 1 ½ tsp salt
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp basil
- ½ pound seashell pasta
- ½ cup Romano cheese grated, (adjust as needed)
Combine Ingredients
In a large stockpot, mix together the diced tomatoes, chicken broth, Great Northern beans (with their liquid), water, chopped spinach, tomato sauce, and crumbled bacon.
Add Seasonings
Stir in the minced garlic, dried parsley, salt, garlic powder, black pepper, and dried basil.
Cook the Soup
Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.Once boiling, reduce the heat, cover the pot, and let it simmer for about 40 minutes to allow the flavors to blend.
Add Pasta
After 40 minutes, add the seashell pasta to the pot.Cook, uncovered, for about 10 minutes or until the pasta is tender but still slightly firm.
