Ingredients
  

  • 1 can diced tomatoes (29 ounces)
  • 2 cans chicken broth (14.5 ounces each)
  • 2 cans Great Northern beans (14 ounces each)undrained
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 can chopped spinach (14 ounces),drained
  • 1 can tomato sauce (8 ounces)
  • 8 slices cooked bacon crumbled
  • 1 tbsp garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp dried parsley
  • 1 ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp basil
  • ½ pound seashell pasta
  • ½ cup Romano cheese grated, (adjust as needed)

Instructions
 

Combine Ingredients

  • In a large stockpot, mix together the diced tomatoes, chicken broth, Great Northern beans (with their liquid), water, chopped spinach, tomato sauce, and crumbled bacon.

Add Seasonings

  • Stir in the minced garlic, dried parsley, salt, garlic powder, black pepper, and dried basil.

Cook the Soup

  • Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.
    Once boiling, reduce the heat, cover the pot, and let it simmer for about 40 minutes to allow the flavors to blend.

Add Pasta

  • After 40 minutes, add the seashell pasta to the pot.
    Cook, uncovered, for about 10 minutes or until the pasta is tender but still slightly firm.

Serve

  • Ladle the soup into bowls and sprinkle with grated Romano cheese to taste.
