Delicious Italian Chicken Tetrazzini Deluxe

This Chicken Tetrazzini Deluxe combines tender pasta, creamy mushroom sauce, chicken, and cheese in a comforting, easy-to-make casserole.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 (16-ounce) package of linguine pasta
  • ½ cup butter
  • 3 cups fresh mushrooms sliced
  • 1 cup onion minced
  • 1 cup green bell pepper minced
  • 2 cans condensed cream of mushroom soup (10.75-ounce)
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cups Cheddar cheese shredded sharp
  • 1 package frozen green peas (10-ounce)
  • ½ cup cooking sherry
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp ground black pepper
  • 4 cups cooked chicken breast chopped
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese grated
  • Paprika to taste

Instructions
 

Cook the Pasta

  • Begin by bringing a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil.
    Add the linguine pasta and cook it for 8 to 10 minutes, or until it’s al dente.
    Drain the pasta and set it aside for later.

Preheat Your Oven

  • Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) so it’s ready for baking.

Prepare the Sauce

  • In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
    Add the sliced mushrooms, minced onion, and minced green bell pepper.
    Sauté until the vegetables are tender, which should take a few minutes.
    Stir in the cream of mushroom soup and chicken broth.
    Cook while stirring until the mixture is warmed through.
    Add the cooked linguine, shredded Cheddar cheese, frozen peas, cooking sherry, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper.
    Mix everything well.Fold in the chopped cooked chicken.

Bake

  • Transfer the mixture to a lightly greased 11x14 inch baking dish.
    Sprinkle the top with grated Parmesan cheese and a dash of paprika.
    Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 35 minutes, or until the dish is bubbly and heated through.
