Here is a quick recipe I make when I am in a hurry. It takes about 20 minutes and is better than ordering delivery.
Ingredients
- 1 lb flank steak, sliced thin
- 1 head of broccoli, cut into florets
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp fresh ginger, minced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water
Instructions
- Slice the beef into thin strips against the grain.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger, and garlic.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over high heat.
- Add the beef and cook for 3-4 minutes until browned. Remove beef from the pan.
- Add the broccoli to the hot pan and cook for about 4 minutes until tender-crisp.
- Add the beef back to the pan.
- Pour the sauce mixture and the cornstarch slurry over the beef and broccoli.
- Toss everything together for 2 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Serve immediately over white rice.
