Here is a quick recipe I make when I am in a hurry. It takes about 20 minutes and is better than ordering delivery.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb flank steak, sliced thin
  • 1 head of broccoli, cut into florets
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, minced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water

Instructions

  1. Slice the beef into thin strips against the grain.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger, and garlic.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over high heat.
  4. Add the beef and cook for 3-4 minutes until browned. Remove beef from the pan.
  5. Add the broccoli to the hot pan and cook for about 4 minutes until tender-crisp.
  6. Add the beef back to the pan.
  7. Pour the sauce mixture and the cornstarch slurry over the beef and broccoli.
  8. Toss everything together for 2 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  9. Serve immediately over white rice.
